The public is invited to tune in on Dec. 4 as the San Diego chapter of the American Society of Interior Designers (ASID) honors the year’s outstanding projects by top designers, in its virtual Design Excellence Awards and Holiday Gala.

Held from 6 to 7:30 p.m., the online event will offer attendees an up-close look at some of San Diego County’s most magnificent interiors and the interior design community, which includes professional interior designers, consultants, artisans, craftspeople and exclusive showrooms.

Awards will be announced in 23 categories, including residential and commercial design, use of lighting and technology, kitchens, baths, sustainable design, product design and more.

“Our virtual awards celebration will be an easy way for the public to get acquainted with the top interior designers working in San Diego County and enjoy a panorama of their award-winning design projects,” said Suzi O’Brien, president of the local ASID chapter.

“The awards celebration is usually a red-carpet affair with designers attending the formal event to support the nominees and to show off their beautiful projects. This year, attendees are encouraged to dress for a celebration … even if it’s only from the waist up,” she added with a chuckle.

For tickets, visit the local ASID website at casd.asid.org. Tickets are $20. For details, call (858) 566-3345 or email [email protected]casd.asid.org.

Founded in 1975, the American Society of Interior Designers is the oldest, largest and leading professional organization for interior designers. It has more than 30,000 members in 48 chapters throughout the United States and Canada.
