If you love to shop but don’t want to venture out during the pandemic, try some local auctions or a large estate sale. You can preview and bid on items online, and for the estate sale, you sign up for a specific time slot and day for safer shopping.

Judy Robinson: Judy Robinson Estate Sales has a sale under way 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. now through Nov. 17 that includes the estate of Robert L. Easton, the estates of two Houston fashion icons and several other personal collections. The sale, at 1927 W. Gray in the location of the former Pier1 store. To attend, you must make an appointment in a time slot on the day you want to attend at jrestates.com.

Inventory includes fine art and bronzes, furniture and antiques, rugs, porcelain and fine china, silver, crystal, clothing, handbags, jewelry and watches.

Lewis & Maese: Lewis & Maese Antiques & Auctions will host an auction live and online at 11 a.m. Nov. 14. At its auction house, 1505 Sawyer. You can watch a video showing some of the goods at lmauctionco.com.

Auctioneer David Lewis says this auction is the best sale they’ve had this year. The inventory is from the home of a couple who were inspired by the Petit Trianon, an 18th century building on the grounds of the Palace of Versailles. Their home in Atlanta, Texas, was built in 1960. It includes 18th and 19th century French and English antiques, plus china and silver.

Gallery Auctions: Gallery Auctions, 13310 Luthe Road will host another luxury designer handbag auction at 10 am. Dec. 5. The event includes the sale of more than 300 designer handbags, wallets, scarves and other accessories. Brands include Prada, Tiffany, Chanel, Dior, Fendi, Gucci, Hermes and more. Masks and social distancing are required.

There will also be 50 pieces of estate jewelry, including a collection of Rolex watches and some gold coins. Everything has been authenticated; handbags come with certificates of authenticity.

Preview hours for the auction are 10 a.m.-3 p.m. Dec. 4, during which absentee bids can be placed. Reservations are required to attend the auction in person; it can also be watched via livestream on Facebook with online bidding at lmauctionco.com. Curbside drive-up pickup will on Dec. 5 until 6 p.m. and noon to 2 p.m. on Dec. 6.
