The Gremlin spared fellow contestants from elimination by unmasking himself.

Spoiler alert! The following contains spoilers from the Nov. 26 episode of “The Masked Singer,” including the identity of the unmasked celebrity.

Mushroom’s “Masked Singer” journey was nearly capped off Thursday night, during a special Thanksgiving presentation of the singing competition.

Mushroom, Broccoli and Jellyfish were vying for the final two spots in the Super Six, hoping to join fellow contestants Sun, Popcorn, Crocodile and Seahorse.

Master impressionist Jay Pharoah joined the show’s designated detectives, Jenny McCarthy, Nicole Scherzinger, Robin Thicke and Ken Jeong, festively dressed in a turkey hat that he named Barry. The show gave another nod to Turkey Day: Following the challengers’ performances, additional clues arrived with a golden turkey that appeared to be cooked to perfection.

Here’s how the incredibly talented Mushroom nearly got cooked.

Clues: Jellyfish’s sister gave out tips to her identity, describing the challenger as “the rebel of our by-the-book family. In reality, she’s also the overachiever.”

Jelly’s sister wore a large calculator over her face to shield identity, with the numbers 57714. Anyone who ever got bored and tried to spell things with a calculator knows that these numbers flipped upside-down spell out “hills,” a possible clue.

Following Jellyfish’s on-the-money performance of Dua Lipa’s “Don’t Start Now,” her turkey clue revealed her time on “The Masked Singer” to be quite the unique experience. “If you find this, you’ll know I’ve never performed on a stage quite like this before,” the clue read.

Guesses: Scherzinger wondered if Jellyfish could be “Boom Clap” singer Charli XCX, while Pharoah thought of makeup mogul Kylie Jenner, an idea Thicke warmed up to. McCarthy went with gold medal gymnast McKayla Maroney.

Clues: Mushroom’s pal said the challenger “has always been a go-getter,” even back in high school, where Mushroom earned the title of class president and had “a GPA over 4.0.” A doll and a bull are among the objects that were highlighted in the package.

Mushroom wowed with his rendition of Katy Perry’s “Unconditionally,” a performance that seemed like it would guarantee him a spot in the Super Six, though that isn’t exactly how the night played out …

Mushroom’s turkey clue revealed the moniker he goes by now is not the one he was given at birth.

“The name that I go by now was not my name when I first sprouted,” he shared.

Guesses: Thicke thought of the multi-talented actor/singer Jaden Smith. Scherzinger brought up “Private Practice” star Taye Diggs, who entered the world as Scott. Jeong threw The Weeknd, aka Abel Tesfaye, into the mix.

Let’s hear it for Broccoli! (Photo: Michael Becker/FOX)

Clues: Insight to this Broccoli were delivered by a pair labeled his “leading ladies,” who described the star as someone who has “always been the greatest showman.”

Apparently his love for the business runs deep. “As a kid, he used to sneak into the local circus and cut holes into the curtain so he could watch the show, dreaming about being one of the performers,” one of the ladies shared.

After the challenger rocked the house with Bob Seger’s “Old Time Rock and Roll,” Broccoli’s turkey clue shed light on his age.

“Do not put your broccoli in the microwave, which was invented after I was born,” Broccoli said. (The microwave came around in the mid-1940s.)

Guesses: Pharoah forecasted “Today” weather anchor Al Roker was beneath the Broccoli, but Jeong envisioned former Beatles drummer Ringo Starr. Thicke thought of “Diana” singer Paul Anka.

The elimination

Shockingly, Jellyfish was automatically submitted to the Super Six after votes were tabulated, leaving Mushroom and Broccoli to face off in a smackdown. Don’t get us wrong, Jellyfish is incredibly talented, but it appeared the Group C Finals were Mushroom’s to lose.

For the smackdown, Broccoli chose Alabama’s “Take Me Down,” while his competitor picked Donny Hathaway’s “A Song for You,” which was enough to land him a spot in the Super Six. Broccoli received the ax, then it was time for the panel to relive their (sometimes embarrassing) first impressions, as well as their final guesses.

Scherzinger originally thought of actor Bill Murray, but changed her vote to “Danke Schoen” singer Wayne Newton. Comedian Martin Short was Jeong’s first instinct, which he traded for his guess earlier in the night, Starr. Thicke swapped comedian Bob Newhart for his earlier guess of Anka, and McCarthy dropped talk show host Jerry Springer for singer Neil Sedaka. Though Pharoah previously thought Broccoli could be “Today” show’s Roker, he settled on musician Paul Simon.

But there’s no way to blur these lines, Thicke was correct with his guess of Anka.

“Canadian! … You’re a legend. You’ve been on many, many stages. Tell us what was it like being on this stage as Broccoli?” Cannon asked.

The singer described his time on the show as “a great, great kick.” He also applauded the cast for the enjoyment they provide to a nation plagued by a pandemic.

“I’m very humbled because we have gone through something in our country,” Anka said, “and to have this kind of fun and enjoy this like this, you should all be very, very proud.”
